Career

Als Mitglied des Internationalen Opernstudios am Opernhaus Zürich war sie u.a. als Brautjungfer („Freischütz“), Wowkle („La fanciulla del West“), Rossweisse/Flosshilde („Der Ring für Kinder“), Altistin in Heinz Spoerlis Bach-Ballett (Leitung Marc Minkowski) und als Tebaldo („Don Carlo) in der Regie von Sven-Eric Bechtolf und unter der musikalischen Leitung von Zubin Mehta zu erleben.

She sung at the Salzburg Festival in Mendelssohn‘s opera A Midsummer Night‘s Dream directed by Henry Mason and under the baton of Ivor Bolton and recently at the Festival Boswiler Sommer, and appeared in Boieldieus’ “La Dame Blanche” in the role of Marguerite at the Free Opera Company at Rigiblick Theatre.

In 2018/2019 she sang the role of Kitty the teacher in “Konrad – the Child from the Tin Can” at the Zurich Opera House and more recently she was the soloist at the world premiere of the work “So shall he descent” by the Estonian composer Toivo Tulev at the Easter Festival / Nova et Vetera in Brno to be heard under the direction of Dennis Russel Davies.

She appeared as a soloist in various concerts in her home city and abroad. Highlights include: Pergolesi‘s Stabat Mater with La Scintilla orchestra, Mozart‘s Requiem, J.Bach’s Magnificat, Haydn‘s Missa in tempore belli and cantata Arianna a Naxos, Hidas’ Requiem, Saint-Saëns‘ Oratorio de Noël with the ZKO orchestra.  Recently in the contemporary music department she performed Pierre Boulez‘ Le Marteau sans Maître with the Ensemble Opus Novum.

Bettina Schneebeli also gave concerts in various Lied programs, including the Mendelsson days in Aarau and as part of the national museum exhibition and the International Museum Day 2017 on the subject of “Escape and Refugees” at the Museum Aarau.
In the opera sector she was a.o. to be heard as Ericlea (“Il ritorno d’Ulisse in patria”), Aloès (“L’Étoile”), Mrs. Todd (“The old maid and the thief”) and as a ghost (“Unhappiness”) with the ensemble TZARA .
